The Footballers Academy – Code of Conduct 2024

For Our Young Players

​

1. Respect Everyone
   - Always listen to your coaches and follow their instructions.
   - Treat your teammates, opponents, and referees with kindness and respect.
   - Use polite language—no swearing or hurtful words.

2. Be a Team Player
   - Encourage and support your teammates, both on and off the field.
   - Share the ball and play fairly, remembering that football is a team game.
   - Celebrate everyone’s successes, not just your own.

3. Play with Passion and Effort
   - Always try your best in every drill, practice, and game.
   - Stay focused and work hard to improve your skills.
   - Have fun and enjoy playing football!

4. Stay Safe
   - Wear the proper gear, including shin pads and appropriate footwear.
   - Listen to your body and tell a coach if you’re hurt or not feeling well.
   - Follow the camp rules and stay within designated areas.

5. Be Punctual and Prepared
   - Arrive on time for all sessions with the necessary equipment (e.g., water bottle, kit).
   - Be ready to start on time and stay until the end of each session.

6. Behave Appropriately
   - Show good behaviour at all times, respecting the rules and everyone at the camp.
   - Understand that repeated bad behaviour will result in removal from the camp to ensure a positive environment for all.

 

For Parents and Guardians

1. Encourage Positive Behaviour
   - Reinforce the importance of respect, teamwork, and effort.
   - Applaud good play and sportsmanship from all children, not just your own.
   - Avoid criticising players, coaches, or referees.

2. Support Learning and Development
   - Help your child understand the importance of practice and persistence.
   - Encourage them to try their best and to enjoy the game.
   - Discuss any concerns with coaches privately and respectfully.

3. Ensure Safety and Preparedness
   - Make sure your child has the correct equipment and attire.
   - Inform coaches of any medical conditions or special requirements.
   - Ensure timely drop-off and pick-up from the camp.

4. Promote a Positive Environment
   - Be a role model of good behaviour and sportsmanship.
   - Support all the children in the camp, fostering a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
   - Help maintain a positive and constructive environment by being supportive and respectful.

5. Monitor Behaviour
   - Encourage your child to behave appropriately at all times.
   - Understand that repeated bad behaviour will result in removal from the camp to maintain a positive and safe environment for all participants.
